Murkfall

Murkfall is a free online RPG in pixel art. One world, everyone in it at the same time: farm, refine your gear, break Rift Stones and work your way down into the Deep, alone or with friends.

This is Alpha 0.1, the first build that people outside our own circle get to play. It will have rough edges. When you hit one, tell us.

Every Saturday at 21:00 UTC (4 PM US Eastern) the Leviathan rises on the Rimwall Road and everyone online fights it together. It's the best time to drop in and meet other players.

Seven dungeons, each with a master

Gather a party and go down. A candlelit crypt, a flooded mine, a smugglers' den, crystal caves, the black Spire and more, each with its own look and a boss waiting at the bottom.

Break the Rift Stones

Rift Stones crack open across the land. Strike one and its guardians wake. Bring it down and its shards are yours, and the smith wants them.

Refine from +0 to +9

Every step hits harder. Every step can fail. The server rolls the dice, so nobody gets to cheat their luck.

The Oldcrown Diggings

At level 19 and 20 the old mines go deep. Prismback, Queen of the Seam, waits below.

One Leviathan, everyone at once

When the Leviathan wakes over the Rim, every hero online fights it together. It rises every Saturday at 21:00 UTC: the Leviathan's Night.

In Alpha 0.1

• Four classes: Warrior, Hunter, Mage and Cleric
• Millbrook, Bastion the capital, the Rimwall Road and the Drowned Quarter, a city lost under the water
• Seven dungeons, Rift Stones, refining to +9 and the Leviathan raid
• Up to four heroes per account, all kept on the server

How to join

1. Download the installer below (or at playmurkfall.com).
2. Open the launcher and press PLAY.
3. Choose New account and pick a name and a password. That's it, no invitation needed.

Good to know

• The alpha is online only: you always play on our server, with everyone else.
• Windows only for now. Windows may warn you about the installer: click More info, then Run anyway.
• The launcher keeps the game up to date, so everyone plays the same version.
• Seats are limited so the server stays smooth. Heroes may be wiped before release.
• Press F8 in the game to report a problem. It sends us a picture of your screen and where you are.
